Thousand miles of lonesome highway Drinking gallons of coffee in a little cafe's Brought me here And it's so good to find That there's someone who's got the same story as mine Just look at us, we're a couple of hard cases So how'd we end up where we are Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart I feel something hittin' me awful hard I don't know where it's gonna lead But i know where it starts Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart Been so long I can't believe i feel something so sweet Where an ache used to be Don't fall in love anymore But i've never met anyone like you before Stay here with me for a couple of more minutes I think there's something going on Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart I feel something hittin' me awful hard I don't know where it's gonna lead But i know where it starts Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart Well it sure took a while to find It's been waiting here all this time Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart I feel something hittin' me awful hard I don't know where it's gonna lead But i know where it starts Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart Somewhere in the vicinity of the heart

In My Room 02:31
There's a world where I can go And tell my secrets to In my room In my room In this world I lock out All my worries and my fears In my room In my room Do my dreaming and my scheming lie awake and pray Do my crying and my sighing laugh at yesterday Now it's dark and I'm alone But I won't be afraid In my room In my room

You're awful bright You're awful smart I must admit You broke my heart The awful truth Is really sad I must admit I was awful bad While lovers laugh And music plays I stumble by And hide my pain Mmmm, the lamps are lit The moon is gone I think I've crossed The Rubicon And I, I, I, I, I, I, I Walk the streets of love And they're full of tears And I, I, I, I, I, I, I Walked the streets of love And they are full of fears While music pumps From passing cars A couple watch me from a bar A band just played The wedding march And the corner store Mends broken hearts And a woman asks me for a dance Oooooh, it's free of charge Just one more chance OOhh, but I, I, I, I, I, I, I Walk the streets of love And they're full of tears And I, I, I, I, I, I, I Walk the streets of love For a thousand years... Oh...tell me now...Ahh... I walk the streets of love, and they're drenched with tears, ohhh... You had the moves You had the cards I must admit You were awful smart The awful truth Is awful sad I must admit I was awful bad And I, I, I, I, I, I, I Walk the streets of love And they're drenched in tears And I, I, I, I, I, I, I I walk the streets of love For a thousand years And I, I, I, I, I, I, I Walk the streets of love And they're drenched with tears

Harry got up Dressed all in black Went down to the station And he never came back They found his clothing Scattered somewhere down the track And he won't be down on wall street In the morning He had a home The love of a girl But men get lost sometimes As years unfurl One day he crossed some line And he was too much in this world But I guess it doesn't matter anymore In a new york minute Everything can change In a new york minute Things can get pretty strange In a new york minute Everything can change In a new york minute Lying here in the darknessI hear the sirens wail Somebody going to emergency Somebody's going to jail If you find somebody to love in this world You better hand on tooth and nail The wolf is always at the door In a new york minute Everything can change In a new york minute Things can get a little strange In a new york minute Everything can change In a new york minute And in these days When darkness falls early And people rush home To the ones they love You better take a fool's advice And tak care of your own One day they're here; Next day they're gone I pulled my coat around my shoulders And took a walk down through the park The leaves were falling around me The groaning city in the gathering dark On some solitary rock A desperate lover left his mark, Baby, I've changed. please come back.' What the head makes cloudy The heart makes very clear The days were so much brighter In the time when she was here But I know there's somebody somewhere Make these dark clouds disappear Until that day, I have to believe I believe, I believe In a new york minute Everything can change In a new york minute You can get out of the rain In a new york minute Everything can change In a new york minute

Trouble blew in on a cold dark wind It came without no warning And that big ol' house went up for sale They were on the road by morning Oh, the days went slow, into the changing season Oh, out in the cold, for all the wrong reasons Well she grew up hard and she grew up fast In the age of television And she made a vow to have it all It became her new religion Oh, down in her soul, it was an act of treason Oh, down they go for all the wrong reasons Where the sky begins the horizon ends Despite the best intentions And a big ol' man goes up for sale He becomes his own invention Oh, the days go slow into the changing season Oh, bought and sold, for all the wrong reasons

You look a little dressed up- You’re acting way too smart Your face a little bit flushed For a walk in the park And you’re clutching your phone As you walk in the door And your smile's got a twist You’re looking so hardcore If you’ve something to say Don’t be to direct 'Cause I feel a little fragile Don’t hit the nail on the head Why I said, baby, baby, let me down real slow Oh no no no Why I said, baby, baby, let me down real slow No no no no There’s a swish in your step There’s a gleam in your eye Are you coloring your hair With some new kind of dye But the first one to blink Is the first one to fall I don’t want a confrontation I've got my back to the wall Oh baby, baby, let me down real slow Oh no no no Why I said, baby, baby, let me down real slow Oh na na na na no (break) Oh baby, baby, let me down real slow oh no no no Let me stretch out in the afterglow Oh na na na na na na na

She confessed her love to me Then she vanished on the breeze Trying to hold on to that was just impossible She was more than beautiful Closer to etherial With a kind of down to earth flavor Close my eyes It's three in the afternoon Then I realize That she's really gone for good Anybody seen my baby Anybody seen her around Love has gone and made me blind I've looked but I just can't find She has gotten lost in the crowd I was flippin' magazines In that place on Mercer Street When I thought I spotted her Getting on a motor bike Looking rather lady like Didn't she just give me a wave? Salty tears It's three in the afternoon Has she disappeared Is she really gone for good Anybody seen my baby Anybody seen her around If I just close my eyes I reach out and touch the prize Anybody seen her around (Rap) Anybody seen my baby Anybody seen her around If I just close my eyes I reach out and touch the prize

Going Back 04:13
I think I'm goin' back To the things I learned so well in my youth I think I'm returning to Those days when I was young enough to know the truth Now there are no games To only pass the time No more electric trains No more trees to climb But thinking young and growing older is no sin And I can play the game of life to win I can recall a time When I wasn't ashamed to reach out to a friend Now I think I've got A lot more than just my toys to lend Now there's more to do Than watch my sailboat glide But every day can be A magic carpet ride A little bit of courage is all we lack So catch me if you can, I'm goin' back La la la la la, etc. Now there's more to do Than watch my sailboat glide But every day can be A magic carpet ride A little bit of courage is all we lack So catch me if you can, I'm goin' back La la la la, etc.

Escape when I sleep It's when I close my eyes Recess to the deep Places in my mind A mirror of city lights Across the lake at night (No light above you) In my dream . . . . . (no shadow below you) Disjointed dream A disjointed dream Let my heart loose This must be paradise You cannot choose Falling takes you back inside The faster I try to run The deeper I sink in (no sky above you) In my dream . . . . . (no ground below you) Disjointed dream A disjointed dream Well, the old house still stands In a place that never was With a snow cone castle Across the yard It's dark and pouring rain But I feel dry just the same The lights from far off spires Will guide the way. (Chorale) Checkered walks on trampolines Take you to another scene (no light above you) In my dream . . . . . (no shadow below you) Disjointed dream Disjointed dream You're not where you think In a disjointed dream With me. (whisper: You are in my dream)

I can almost hear you sigh I can almost hear you cry On every crowded street All the places we would meet What will I do without you They say that life goes on I'm feeling sorry for myself I can't belive you're gone You acted much too calm You turned on all the charm You had a cold look in your eyes I can feel your tongue on mine Silky smooth like wine I'm living with those memories That's all that's left of you and me I can almost hear you sigh Almost hear you cry When you made sweet love to me And you turned on all the charm Acted much too calm You had a cold look in your eyes Did it mean nothng Was it all in vain Was I just your fool Or was the pleasure pain Will you set me free Or will I wake up In the morning And find out it's been a bad dream Come on, I beg you I want to be your main man I can almost hear you sigh Almost hear you cry When you make sweet love to me Almost see your smile It stretched half a mile You had a stone cold look in your eyes

I read the news today, oh boy About a lucky man who made the grade And though the news was rather sad Well, I just had to laugh I saw the photograph He blew his mind out in a car He didn't notice that the light had changed A crowd of people stood and stared They'd seen his face before Nobody was really sure if he was from the House of LKords I saw a fil today, oh boy The English Army had just won the war The crowd of people turned away But I just had to look Having read the book I'd love to turn you on. Woke up, fell out of bed Dragged the comb across my head Went downstairs and had a cup Looking up, I noticed I was late Got my coat and grabbed my hat Made the bus in seconds flat Went upstairs and had a smoke Somebody spoke and I went into a dream Ahhhhh....... I read the news today, oh boy Four thousand holes in Blackburn Lancashire And though the holes were rather small They had to count them all Now they know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall I'd love to turn you on.

about

This compilation is dedicated to the remembrance of the "old school" vinyl record albums. I like to release 12 songs in an album just like in the old days. "Corner Toys" is an appropriate name for this album. It describes what and how I I do what I do these days with music. Many artists these days have self described "home studios". I don't have anything like that. My stuff is recorded at home in the corner of my living room with the "toys" I have accumulated over the years. I have to wait for helicopters to go away, dogs to stop barking and wait for the sirens to pass to hit the record button!. No "vocal booths" or advantages of a sterile studio environment. It "is" what it "is". I hope you enjoy it!

about

Skip Hinely Wilmington Island, Georgia

Before moving to Savannah from Columbus GA, Skip was planning his escape to Rock & Roll! He met older neighbor, Thad Strickland, in '63. Skip had drums, the Stricklands had guitars so the garage bands began! Then the Beatles! This made it serious business. Then the Stones. They made it loose. Skip with Thad, was in a developmental contract with former Allman Bros manager, Bunky Odom in the 80's. ... more
